How to check a seller in three steps

  1. Get their details in writing

Ask for the business name, street address, phone number and website before you discuss payment. A seller who will not put those in a message is the first warning.

  2. Look each one up here

Search the number and the domain separately. Operations change business names far more often than they change phone numbers.

  3. Never wire a deposit sight unseen

Wires, Zelle, Cash App and gift cards cannot be reversed. A card payment or an escrow service you chose yourself can be.
